Madison Folk Music Society - Fan Questions
Q: Do you consider Jess Klein the type of singer you would sponsor? She appeared at the Brink's closed-off area last Thursday to 4 people, not including me. They seem not to have known about MFMS. -RE
A:I am familiar with Jess Klein - she has performed in Madison several times over the past years. We do sponsor shows of the singer/songwriter genre. We even listed this show in our calendar page of our newsletter.
We have limited resources and cannot sponsor unlimited concerts, so we choose approx 6 shows to do in a year, but for these 6 shows we normally have over 100 requests. There are many musicians out there touring and we can't sponsor them all.
I'm not sure why her management/booking agent would not know of our organization - a quick Google search would find us and we regularly attend music conferences both for midwest and national each year where there are many, many agents and musicians.
